Casa Belvedere, a house in the pedestrian only hill town of Civita di Bagnoregio, rents for $1,800 a week (with discounts for longer stays). The house accommodates up to 5 people. Its location halfway between Rome and Florence, is ideal as a home base for excursions to much of central Italy. The house and garden are also wonderful places for relaxation and family gatherings. Although this is a house in a village, the outdoor spaces allow you to enjoy as much privacy outdoors as an isolated villa. The rental includes the main house (sleeps 5, 2 full bathrooms & 2 bedrooms), the garden room, and the adjacent terraces, garden, and covered outdoor spaces.

VILLAGE INFORMATION

This small hill town in central Italy is reached today only by a pedestrian bridge. Residents park their cars near the bottom of the bridge then walk about 10 minutes to reach the village gate. The hill town stands like an island within the surrounding valley. Physically isolated, Civita has preserved much of its medieval character, as well as traces of the earlier Roman and Etruscan civilizations. The population today varies from about 12 people in winter to over 100 in the summer.
